Hi friends!
I started this newsletter just a few months ago because I had something I needed to get off my chest.
In hindsight, I suppose it was a mission that lived inside me. I did not know what that was but all I knew was that I needed to get it out of me. “Maybe I could write it out of myself?” I thought. So, I focused on showing up.
Almost every week, I showed up to write something that spoke to me at the time. And each week, you read my newsletters, you shared them with friends, family and your social networks. You privately messaged me lovely words about my newsletter.
Every little bit of support you showed me and The Misfit newsletter made my WHOLE ENTIRE month. It made me jump in excitement and shout it to my loved ones. It gave me the fuel I needed to continue to figure out how to take my writing to make the world a kinder place.
I do not have everything figured out. This world is so interconnected, layered and complex. I’d be a fool if I thought I could figure it all out. Plus, I firmly believe that the wiser we are, the less likely we are to say things are “black or white” because we’re forever living in the grey zone.
My mission continues: how do I continue to study the world around me? How do I evolve as a person? And most importantly, what is my responsibility as a global citizen?
For me, that means speaking up for the most vulnerable among us and defending them in a world that continues to forget about them. Or worse, use them.
For the new year, I look forward to how that mission and heart will grow. And how The Misfit will continue to seek what is true… with you by my side. You make me feel like you are my tribe. And what better tribe to be a part of, then the one that cares about humanity?
I can’t think of one.
So, thank you - to each and every one of you - for being my tribe. For joining me on this journey and for encouraging The Misfit to continue. It’s your support that gives me the belief that this work does matter and that it’s an important endeavour to accomplish.
Finally, I want to wish you HAPPY, PEACEFUL HOLIDAYS to all of you! I hope one day we can meet and be friends IRL. Until then, I hope you can all enjoy some time with your family and friends.
Talk oh so soon!
